A post of mine was automatically linked to at a site that wraps up the news as if it were fish fresh off the trawler. Some news wrap. No discernment at all. I feel like a dolphin caught in a drag net. Except I'm not dying, exactly.

This happened to me. It was a bunch of articles about Eric Clapton, and some auto-feed news site grabbed the post I had with the picture of Clapton making a G chord. Pretty lame, ain't it? I don't have site meter anymore, but that's how I found out about it, trying to backtrack a hit.
That happened to me too - a post I wrote whining about statistics for my dissertation ended up on one of those ad farm sites. It was just weird. I don't mind sharing links but prefer for a human to be on the other end.
FYI, you can disable trackbacks - just go to the customization panels. It's in there somewhere.

Does blogspot let you disable trackbacks and blogbots?
I never enabled trackbacks. Never bothered to learn what use that is. And anyway I got no reason to mind that I know of.
